Youth Worker (Casual)

Youth Worker – Casual

• Salary: Level 3/4 $42.85 - $50.49 per hour
• Plus up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply)
• Hours: various hours per week working across programs (2.30pm-8.00pm Monday to Friday)

Do you enjoy working with young people and making a difference in their lives?

The City is looking for casual Youth Workers to support the delivery of safe and effective programs and opportunities for young people. Successful candidates will have an ability to deliver programs and activities that meet the needs of young people in the community, experience in providing information, support, and referral.

To be successful for this position you either should hold or be willing to obtain the following mandatory certificates or clearances:

• Working with Children Check
• First Aid Certificate, including CPR (HLTAID011 and HLTAID009)
• HR licence (not essential but desirable)

• Skills and experience in working with young people from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.
• Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, in particular with young people.
• Knowledge of community/youth issues, particularly as they relate to young people.
• Completion of/or progression towards tertiary qualification in Youth Work / Community Services and / or equivalent relevant experience.
