Horsham is a lively city with a population of about 14,000 people and our municipality has another 6,000 residents further afield. We are centrally located in the Wimmera and nestled close to the Grampians National Park and the rock climbing mecca, Mt Arapiles, near Natimuk. Horsham offers excellent shopping, dining, entertainment, accommodation and sporting facilities. Council has a large budget and employs about 240 people (EFT 200).
Horsham Rural City Council is committed to providing and promoting child safe environments. Council has zero tolerance to child abuse and aims to create a child safe and child friendly environment where children feel safe and secure and have fun. This includes the physical, emotional, cultural and social wellbeing of all children.
Great working conditions
Council operates under the Horsham Rural City Council Enterprise Agreement, which incorporates the Victorian Local Authorities Award and the Nurses (ANF - Victorian Local Government) Award. Generous annual pay increases are provided for and there is an opportunity through the annual review process to further advance your rate of pay.
Flexible work arrangements
Most people in our organisation have access to either flexi-time or a nine day fortnight, depending on the area they work in. Some staff have recently started working a 48/52 model of employment, which is an option provided for under the enterprise agreement.
Social Club
There's a good social atmosphere amongst staff and two active social clubs, one covering the indoor staff and another for the outdoor staff. Regular activities and events are organised and Council encourages staff participation.
Horsham Rural City Council is an Equal Opportunity and Child Safe Employer and values Flexibility, Accountability, Integrity and Respect. We recognize the important and ongoing place that all Indigenous people hold in our community.
