Cemetery Attendant (3 x Positions Available)

As a Cemetery Attendant, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining the serene and respectful environment of our cemeteries while ensuring that burial services are conducted with the utmost care and professionalism.

Your New Role:

  • Work alongside our Cemetery Sextons to deliver safe, efficient, and dignified burial services.
  • Assist with grave excavation and backfilling, plaque fitting, minor construction tasks and infrastructure repairs.
  • Attend to the ground maintenance of our cemeteries, ensuring they are always safe, beautiful, and well-kept.
  • Interact with funeral directors, contractors, Council employees, and the public ensuring all interactions are respectful and meet the high standards our community expects.
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations, ensuring that both your work environment and the services you help provide are secure and compliant with environmental and quality assurance standards.

  • Experienced with a broad range of ground maintenance duties and the ability to perform various manual tasks
  • Experience with burial services will be highly valued.
  • Sensitivity and respectful communication skills are vital in this role.
