Community Programming Librarian

• Permanent Part-time Position (28 hrs/week)
• Band 5 salary range from $69,877.08 - $80,435.68 per annum, pro rata plus super
• Primary Location: Wendouree Library

City of Ballarat is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated professional to work as part of the Libraries and Lifelong Learning team to provide high quality, efficient and friendly customer, information and learning services that meet the diverse needs of the community. 

The position is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating a range of community programs that support the library as a place for reading, learning and connection. This position also works within the library team to support the provision of regular library operations and deliver excellent customer service.

Key Selection Criteria:

Qualifications and Experience  

• Completion of a degree course or through lesser formal qualifications with relevant work skills and eligibility for professional membership to ALIA.
• Demonstrated skills and aptitude developed in a customer service environment. 
• Experience in the provision of information services including online resources. 
• Working with Children check 

Selection Criteria:

• Qualifications and experience as listed above. 
• Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of community programs, events, and activities for adults. 
• Considerable experience in a range of IT applications and digital technologies including handheld devices. 
• Demonstrated experience in communicating sensitively and effectively with a range of people and organisation’s from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and abilities. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet organisational strategic outcomes.
