Primary Objectives:

• Implement and uphold Council’s Environmental Health and Permit Compliance Programs.
• To administer Council’s roles and responsibilities under the Food Act 2006, Public Health Act 2005, Public Health (Infection Control for Personal Appearance Services) Act 2003, Environmental Protection Act 1994, Council local laws and other relevant legislation to a high standard.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong background in environmental health, with experience in enforcing legislation such as the Public Health Act 2005, Food Act 2006 and Environmental Protection Act 1994.
  • Thorough in conducting inspections and maintaining accurate records, with the ability to gather evidence and prepare materials for court proceedings.
  • A proactive approach to investigating complaints and taking enforcement action, always seeking the best outcomes for public health and safety.
  • The ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, educate the public, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Someone who collaborates well with others, contributing to a positive team environment and supporting the Council’s broader goals.
