The Ballarat Aquatic Lifestyle Centre is seeking an energetic Fitness Services Officer who is passionate about the health and fitness industry to join our team of dedicated staff. Reporting to the Fitness & Community Engagement Team Leader, the Fitness Services Officer will play a vital role in driving membership growth, retention and participation at the Ballarat Aquatic & Lifestyle Centre (BALC). This role is an important link between the Health Club, Group Fitness and Customer Experience departments and, as such, will need to be skilled and equipped to perform in all areas. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with the ability to not only provide guidance, advice and training on all Health Club matters but also develop, implement and optimise retention programs and initiatives to meet BALC’s objectives. Responsibilities: - Assist the Fitness & Community Engagement Team Leader to develop, implement and review retention programs and initiatives to meet BALC’s objectives.
- Work as a team member to provide the very best health and fitness advice in a friendly atmosphere with high customer service standards.
- Ensure health club consultations and assessments are conducted professionally, and programs/workouts are prescribed safely, using up-to-date industry knowledge.
- Liaise with user and community groups to identify new program opportunities.

- Experience in planning and implementing membership acquisition and retention strategies.
- Previous experience managing others preferred.
- Certificate III in Fitness (Essential).
- Certificate IV in Fitness (Preferred).
- Current registration with AusActive or Physical Fitness Australia.
- Current Level 2 First Aid certificate, including current CPR.
- Current Working with Children Check.

- Demonstrated ability to champion, model and promote the corporate values.
- Be committed to on-going personal and professional development to maintain industry knowledge at the highest level, giving the ability to design and implement safe and effective exercise programs and instructing participants in correct exercise technique.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be proactive and motivated to succeed.
- Demonstrated ability to implement, monitor and adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
- National Police Check.
- Flexibility to work across a seven (7) day roster.
