About the opportunity
We are excited to have opened our new Blacktown Exercise Sport and Technology Hub (BEST). This transformational project includes a state-of-the-art centre for health, education, and sport, as well as The Lodge hotel and a brand new Physical Literacy space for the community.BEST complements the existing facilities within the sports park which house sports such as AFL, Cricket, Softball, Baseball, Soccer and Athletics. Located along the Westlink M7, Blacktown International Sports Park (BISP) is the premier elite training and playing facility in Western Sydney.
First opened in 2000 for the Sydney Olympic Games, the facility has continued to grow and now incorporates a variety of sporting facilities a, recreational and community spaces across 54 hectares. Council are looking to reflect the quality of the playing fields which are of an international standard in the surrounding landscape and achieve a level of provision that is complimentary of that within the surrounding greater Sydney parklands.
We are currently looking to appoint a Landscape Gardener who will maintain and deliver year-round maintenance, preparation and renovation of all landscaped areas at Blacktown International Sports Park, Blacktown Football Park and Joe McAleer Reserve.
An ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and an ability to work pro-actively within a small team to provide facilities of the highest quality for all stakeholders. This role will provide an opportunity for candidates to work with our Grounds and Venue Experience teams to support the daily operations at BISP. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the Sports Park and facilitate a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors at the precinct.
