The Role

Our Economy & Experience unit plays a lead role in ensuring Bendigo is a great place to live, work, visit and invest.

In this new role as our Major Events Manager, you will ensure hosting opportunities and lead bids for major events such as the Lost Trades Fair and Australian Diamonds 2024 Test Series are identified, acquired and delivered effectively. You will ensure that the City secures and successfully stages major events, including the Bendigo Easter Festival throughout the Bendigo region through facilitation of key partners and programs.

You will lead comprehensive strategies, communications, assessment and evaluation tools for events and special projects and play a key advisory role to stakeholder groups in the planning, communication, resourcing, logistics and operation of events.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have relevant event management qualifications, extensive experience with a record of achievement in attracting, designing and delivering major events, projects and programs. You will have the ability to establish and manage strategic relationships, have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills together with strong leadership experience.

A satisfactory police records check and employee Working with Children is required for this position.
