Join the City of Bunbury as our Senior Rating Services Officer and help enhance the financial sustainability of our local government services.

You will play a crucial role in administering, collecting, and recovering council rates, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and council policies, and providing guidance to the Rating Services Team.

What you'll do:

• Ensure Rating Services practices comply with legislation and regulations.
• Develop and conduct strategic rate modelling to enhance revenue potential.
• Coordinate the maintenance of the rating database and the issuance of rates notices.
• Oversee debt recovery and reconciliation of rates.
• Provide end-of-year and end-of-month balancing and processing.
• Research and analyse financial data to inform decision-making and provide regular reports.
• Assist in identifying risks related to rates assessment and revenue collection.
• Communicate rate changes and gather feedback from stakeholders.
• Resolve complex rates inquiries and complaints to enhance customer satisfaction.

What you'll bring:

• Previous rating experience within a medium to large local government organisation.
• Working knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 and Rates & Charges (Rebates and Deferments) Act 1992.
• Developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong word processing, spreadsheet, numeracy, and literacy skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Developed customer service and public relation skills.
• Experience in debt collection actions and procedures.
