ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Liverpool's strategic direction, engage with key stakeholders, and drive positive outcomes for the community. In this position, the Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of relevant policies and strategies to build and promote the portfolio of cultural venues, festivals and events in the provision of curatorial scope, including programs, partnerships, products, and services to achieve the Vision and Priorities. This encompasses and relates to State and Federal Policy. You will also develop and implement sustainable entrepreneurial strategies that strengthen the portfolio’s position and negotiate with key Government and non-Government organisations for funding opportunities. The Manager will support and influence Council’s creative vision across the broader Liverpool LGA. Providing effective strategic and policy management within their portfolio to ensure delivery and alignment. 

ABOUT YOU:

The successful applicant will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive practical experience in relevant areas of cultural venues, festivals & events management.
• Class C Driver’s Licence
• Extensive experience working at a leadership level in a relevant field in a medium-large sized organisation; leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering outcomes based on organisational objectives to a high standard, to budget and business performance criteria
• Demonstrated experience in managing contemporary arts, cultural development, programming skills and demonstrated ability to develop, lead and manage related innovative strategies, plans, projects and programs.
• Experience in high-level negotiations with key Government and non-Government organisations to build sustainable creative outcomes
• Experience in negotiating and delivering programming to socially and culturally diverse communities
• Experience in financial, structural and cultural management, including extensive and highly developed strategy development
• Experience in the delivery of policy outcomes for Local, State and Federal cultural organisations; and experience in managing, leading, motivating and developing a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to work within a broad functional management team environment, demonstrating agility and role-modelling the values of teamwork, integrity, innovation and customer focus.
• Experience in venue and event management of an art/cultural institution / program or relevant field. Proven ability in managing an operational budget.
