The Role
The Resource Recovery and Education Unit plays a key role in the presentation of the City and the provision of waste related services. The Unit is responsible for city cleaning, organics, general waste and recycling collection and processing, urban drainage clearance, operation of transfer stations and landfill operations, as well as the behaviour change programs that provide education to the community around waste minimisation and avoidance, recycling and transitioning to a circular economy.
As our Manager of the Resource Recovery and Education unit, you will lead the large team to effectively deliver critical waste and resource recovery functions including:
The role is primarily based at our Adam Street Depot in Golden Square but will travel to other offices/sites.
About You
To be successful in this busy and varied role you will be a positive leader with the ability to mentor and support staff to create a cohesive, multi-skilled and high performing team. You will be able to establish and manage strategic, productive relationships, and have extensive experience in leading and delivering projects, programs and operations to achieve strong economic outcomes.
You will also have a customer service focus, high level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with strong financial management experience.
Relevant qualifications are required, as well as a satisfactory Police Records Check and employee Working with Children Check.
