About the Opportunity

The Parks and Recreation Business Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team consisting of Business Services and Administration Officer's and the day-to-day operations of cemeteries and camping. Additionally, this role will be required to provide project, procurement and high level administrative support to the Parks and Recreation leadership team.

This position can be located in any of our major towns (Dalby, Chinchilla, Miles or Tara).

This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key duties include:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Business Services Unit, with a focus on delivering proficient and professional services to the highest level
  • Assist and support the Business Services Coordinator in the efficient and effective delivery of advanced administrative support services for the business unit, inclusive of complex procurement, IT, workflow, and reporting in accordance with Council policies and standard work practices;
  • Facilitating and coordinating the review, audit and maintenance of Business Services team documentation related to Cemeteries, inclusive all legislative compliance factors;
  • Consulting, liaising and communicating with a wide range of internal and external key stakeholders (Cemetery trustee groups, suppliers, caretakers, community groups, steering committees and operational team members) to ensure desired outcomes are achieved;

This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.

This role has the option of a compressed working roster.

About yourself

A person in this position will need to hold a relevant Diploma in Business Administration OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have previous experience within Cemeteries or Camping operations, or something similar

Mandatory Vaccinations (or a valid and verifiable contraindication) are to be evidenced when requested by Council.
