The role
Our Parks Operations, Open Space, and Cemeteries department are seeking a full-time Parks Works Supervisor to be based from our Tuncurry Depot. This leadership position will support our team to deliver maintenance and presentation activities across our community's parks, reserves, sports fields, public gardens, and cemeteries. As the Parks Works Supervisor of our Southern Operations, you will provide oversight to a team of 20 team members across Forster/Tuncurry and surrounding areas.
In this hands-on role, you’ll provide guidance and leadership to your team, drawing on your expertise in horticulture, turf management, and asset maintenance. You'll oversee minor park and cemetery projects, manage cemetery operations including burials and grounds maintenance, and ensure our public spaces are well-kept and safe. Your input will also help shape long-term plans and improvements, ensuring we continue to offer great outdoor spaces for the community.
We're looking for someone with experience in leading teams, project planning, risk management, and managing public spaces. You will be a Supervisor who leads by example, with a commitment to safe work practices and ongoing staff development. Qualifications and experience in parks, horticulture, or turf management is essential, along with the ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes through strong leadership and collaboration.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $83,460 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience).
A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.
Location: This position will be based at our Tuncurry Depot located at Greygum Road Tuncurry. You will also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
