The role & you
The Water Industry is an essential service and this is an opportunity to step into a career pathway that will always be in demand.
This position offers a fixed-term appointment (12 months) training you in key aspects of Water Operations and will provide you with a strong foundation to continue in an industry career path.
In this role, you will predominantly provide assistance in the operation, planned and unplanned maintenance of Council's water treatment plants.

To be successful, you must be confident and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment where you will learn from the expertise of others. You will be proactive, hands-on, enthusiastic and ready to join an engaging team who are committed to continuous learning and industry improvements. This opportunity requires a motivated individual who is comfortable in both administrative tasks as well as working operationally in outdoor settings.
It is also a requirement of this role that you have a White Card, hold a current Class C drivers licence and have the ability to swim.

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you’ll be required to complete a pre-employment medical check (this will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component)
Salary:
Location: Upon commencement your normal place of work will be our Bootawa Water Treatment Plant located at Bootawa Dam Road. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Fixed-Term, Full Time. (12 Months)
