About the Role

We are excited to offer a unique and exciting opportunity for a Performing Arts Centre Venue Manager to join our dynamic Community Services Team. In this pivotal role, you'll take the lead in overseeing the operations of our brand-new Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre. This is your chance to shape the venue's success and contribute to its vibrant role in the community.

The Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre is the first project in a significant Cultural Precinct for the Wollondilly community. The Centre features a flexible, flat-floor auditorium with retractable seating, an orchestra pit, and a multi-purpose studio. It is a unique venue in the region, attracting a range of contemporary theatre performance, community and commercial uses.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • University degree qualifications and/or extensive experience in performing arts centre management within a performing arts venue at a senior level
  • Experience in a leadership role providing direction for performing arts venues to be able to drive utilisation, as well as establish connections, with the broader arts industry to ensure the ongoing visitation of the venue
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate and influence at all organisational levels and external stakeholders and agencies
  • Strong capabilities in collaboration and relationship building to establish, drive and maintain partnerships with a wide range of external stakeholders to deliver positive community outcomes
  • Experience in creating effective relationships with community and commercial hirers as well as developing a program of activities that cultivates an engaged audience for the venue
  • Ability to plan, organise, set priorities and manage time so that objectives are achieved in an agreed timeframe
  • Demonstrated high level budget management skills and experience

Please note, the position is subject to an open spread of hours on a rostered basis and includes after hours, weekend and public holiday work in accordance with the provisions of the Award.
