The Opportunity

The Revenue Services team is looking for an appropriately qualified and experienced Revenue Services Officer to join the team and provide administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient running of the Revenue Services department.

Reporting to the Coordinator Revenue Services, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate property, rates and valuation records on the Council's corporate system and provide quality and responsive support to the department's internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

The Revenue Services Officer will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Maintaining the rates and property information systems' core functions:
    • Notice of Acquisitions
    • Change of Address
    • BINS
    • Land Information Certificates
    • Pensioner
    • Payment Management e.g. Direct Debit
    • Rates Customer Request Management (CRM's) and correspondence

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Experience in Rates services core functions and/or revenue management.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and book-keeping.
  • Experience in software for Rates and Valuations environment.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and schedule workload in order to meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
  • Well-developed customer service skills.
