We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Project Delivery Service team to lead and manage projects from conception to final delivery.

About the Team:

The Finance & Business Services Directorate provides essential internal services that support Council to deliver services to the community.

Information &Technology Services’ (I&TS) key activities include the provision and support of information management & technology solutions aligned with the requirements of the Council.

The Project Delivery team manages programs and projects from the I&TS project pipeline portfolio in alignment with the I&TS business aligned strategy and has a dynamic mix of personnel. Projects in the project pipeline are diverse covering the areas of Asset Management, Infrastructure & Technology and Business Improvement.

What You’ll Do:

The Project Delivery team works with project teams within I&TS as well as with our business customers across Council to achieve project objectives by:

• Defining, implementing and managing projects from conception to final delivery.
• Achieving optimal results, conforming to standards for quality, safety and sustainability and complying with defined scope, performance, cost and schedule criteria.
• Deploying agile practices where applicable.
• Providing change management services to ensure that IT projects are successfully implemented and adopted within the business in a manner that ensures the desired business outcomes and benefits are achieved.
• Consult and negotiate with key stakeholders as a project specialist, actively work to solve customer problems and contribute to improvements in project management and governance methodologies and practices.

What We’re Looking For:

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communications skills.
• Understanding of the tools, processes, and project management methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Scrum,
etc) needed to successfully complete projects.
• Experience with technology-related tenders, including creation of tender documents through to management of
the selection process.
• Demonstrated experience in successful project delivery and change management.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, and remain organised, composed, and resourceful.
• A team player working with and across different I&TS sections including external resources.
