North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands, and a bustling CBD. The Role

Stanton Library is a quality customer focused library service located in a beautiful park setting near a busy CBD, close to public transport and recreational facilities. There is currently an exciting opportunity for a motivated Shelver to join the supportive team at Stanton Library.

This part time position is responsible for shelving library items and maintaining the physical appearance of the library. 

9 Hours per week required, however can be flexible with start/finish times; 

Tuesdays 2pm-5pm

Thursdays 2pm-5pm

Fridays 2pm-5pm 

Essential

  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift books and equipment using appropriate manual handling techniques
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety issues relating to manual handling
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail

Desirable

  • Experience working in a library environment
  • Knowledge of WHS & EEO principles and practice
  • Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification scheme
  • Understanding of the principles of good customer service

Part Time - 9 hours per week - Hourly rate from: $28.80 to $33.52 ph + 11.5% superannuation + transport allowance
