About this role:

We are seeking a driven and experienced event professional to play an integral role in leading a high performing team of passionate event producers. Reporting to the Manager of Cultural Venues and Events, the role is responsible for ensuring the successful, cost-effective, and timely delivery of an ambitious event program. This includes providing strategic oversight, operational direction, innovation, and planning in order to meet the needs of key stakeholders.

  • To be successful in this role, you will have extensive, proven experience in developing and leading high-quality, high profile events across various models and types. You will also;
  • Hold relevant qualifications in events, communications, public relations, or marketing.
  • Have extensive experience working in government and/or not-for-profit organisations delivering high quality, high profile events for diverse audiences.
  • Have extensive demonstrated experience in negotiating with internal clients as well as external clients including socially and culturally complex communities socially and culturally complex communities;
  • Have strong project management experience, and have experience leading a team across delivery of multiple projects.
  • Experience with contract management and coordinating external contractors
  • Be able to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, and possess strong communication and negotiation skills to yield the best results for your projects and the community
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in multitasking and advanced time management to enable the coordination and planning of multiple events and projects simultaneously
  • Be able to thrive  in a fast-paced work environment
  • Hold a Class-C Drivers License

Your main responsibilities will include leading a high-performing team of event producers, and the delivery of a diverse and ambitious event program by;

  • Providing specialist and strategic planning advice on all areas of Events, Festivals and Activations to Liverpool City Council (Mayor, CEO, Director Community & Lifestyle, Manager of Cultural Venues & Events, and Manager City Economy, Manager Executive Services)
  • Overseeing the management of an annual events program that maintains and maximises audienceparticipation and efficiently allocates human and financial resources to ensure the delivery of the even.
  • Contribute to the creative and strategic development of existing and new events
  • Evaluate and report on our events, facilitating systems for retrieving analytics and feedback to help us improve the event-goer experience
  • Implementing improvements to the delivery of services by evaluating and assessing the performanceagainst benchmarks/targets as well as reviewing all functions which includes but not limited to costs, budget, resource utilisation, productivity and quality of services.  
  • Provide guidance and build the capacity of our event producers and engage in staff development
  • Coordinating and planning the administrative, operational, financial and resourcing needs to ensure the delivery of events is within agreed timelines and budgetary requirements
