Salary: $94,517.56 to $103,567.10 + 11.5% super

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a planning professional to join our City Planning team. You will be working on some of the most exciting and challenging strategic planning projects in Western Sydney. Working within a collaborative and supportive team and reporting to the Executive Planner, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic land use policy to support our growing community.

The key responsibilities of this position are:

  • The preparation and processing of Planning Proposals, Local Environmental Plans, and Development Control Plans.
  • Undertake strategic planning projects and studies in accordance with the Strategic Planning work program.
  • Providing advice and interpretation of planning policy to staff, Councillors, and the public including the preparation of correspondence, reports and presentations.
  • Assisting in the assessment of Development Applications.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline. Partial completion of a Town Planning Course may be acceptable subject to provision of academic transcript and commitment to completion of the course
  • Experience and relevant understanding of Strategic Planning processes and application of legislation and policy
  • Demonstrated ability to produce positive strategic land use planning outcomes
  • Ability to undertake strategic research, analysis and interpretation of information
  • Experience in consulting with a wide range of audiences in Council and the wider community and resolving conflicts
  • Experience in undertaking and overseeing planning studies and projects
  • Current Drivers Licence
