Tanks Arts Centre are looking for dynamic, customer-focused Bar Attendants to join their team. The primary objective of this role is to provide exemplary customer service across a range of duties for Creative Life related events. You will ensure that Creative Life venues offer a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons, artists, and staff. You will be responsible for the set up of the venue prior to and after events; cash handling and the use of POS system and the continual stocking of the bars.
As a Bar Attendant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Provide bar service, including order taking and order filling
• Operate point of sale systems for cash, credit, and EFTPOS transactions
• Restock the bar as directed by the supervisor and confirm stock inventory
• Perform general waiting duties, including drink and catering service
• Set up events, including arranging tables, chairs, dry bars, catering, and beverages
• Communicate effectively with patrons, answer their questions, and attend to their needs in a friendly, courteous manner
• Provide exceptional customer service and actively work to resolve customer concerns
• Maintain cleanliness in auditoria and foyer areas at all times
• Open foyer and auditoria doors before, during, and after events, including intervals
• Act as a fire/area warden as part of the emergency management plan
Essential Qualifications:
• Current/Valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) copy to be supplied with your application
• Class C driver’s licence and the ability to drive independently between locations
• Experience with point of sale systems
• Experience in theatre operations, events, and the hospitality industry
• A demonstrated high level of customer service with a friendly and courteous disposition
