We deliver 29 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 370,000 residents. 

The role

In this role the Library Programs Team Leader will be using leadership skills to lead and mentor the Library Programs Team to deliver exceptional programs and events that support diverse groups in our community by meeting their informational and recreational needs while exploring collaboration opportunities with internal and external partnerships. 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Support the Library Programs Team by providing leadership and guidance with relation to people management processes.
  • Supervise day to day operations, support and guide the team, including but not limited to rostering, leave requests, training and development plans.
  • Develop, plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate a range of high quality adult programs, including programs for culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD) across the nine council libraries to meet community needs while working with the Team Leaders of the branch libraries to deliver the programs.
  • Develop and sustain partnerships with external organisations and internal units in order to expand capacity and deliver improved programs.
  • Provide a high level of customer service across all branch locations as required.

You will have

  • Tertiary qualifications (University Degree) in Library and Information Science or relevant field
  • C Class Drivers Licence. 
  • Working with Children Check
  • Demonstrated Experience in the development, planning, delivery, promotion and evaluation of innovative library (or similar) programs and events
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (MS Office applications)

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $101,423 (Grade H, Step1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
