Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic Team Leader Maintenance and Operations.  The position manages the crews and staff undertaking maintenance works to ensure the teams achieve the scheduled works and services contained in the maintenance programs in an efficient, timely and effective manner.  Maintenance works include weed control, signage installation, clearing of drainage, repairs and construction for assets such as roads, drainage, footpaths, gravel re-sheeting, heavy patching, bridgework, reconstruction of culverts, kerb and gutter.  

The position also provides an elevated level of service in the maintenance of Councils’ Infrastructure and during the construction of capital projects.

We are seeking candidates that take pride in their work, have a positive attitude, are punctual, reliable, hardworking, and able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The candidate will bring the following to the role:

•    Certificate IV in Civil Construction or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in roads and drainage related construction activities
•    High level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
•    Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.
•    Demonstrated high level of organisational skills to manage multiple tasks, exercise initiative and meet deadlines.
•    A demonstrated intermediate level of computer literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, asset management systems) and ability to adapt to new technologies.
•    Demonstrated experience in delivering efficient and effective construction and maintenance services, to agreed levels of service whilst managing customer expectations.
•    Knowledge and experience of workplace risk and applying Workplace Health and Safety principles using safe systems of work in road construction and maintenance activities including; Working with Traffic, Confined Spaces, Overhead and Underground Assets, Excavation and Working with Hazardous Substances.
•    A current Class C Driver Licence and General Induction for Construction in NSW (White Card).

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $74,200 gross per annum
 + adverse working conditions of $2,500 gross per annum
 + 11.5% superannuation 
 + performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary 
 + annual award increase
