About the role

Our Tree/Parks inspector is full-time in the Parks team and will undertake all physical tree inspections and assessments, as well as the administering of tree risk management activities within Council controlled or managed lands.

Your main duties will include:

  • Conducting physical inspections and reporting requirements for Council’s parks asset, such as playgrounds and reserves.
  • Investigating and following up on inquiries related to Tree Management.
  • Providing quotes and budget control for relevant projects.
  • Reviewing inspection performance and achievements against code of practice and general service standards.

Salary Information
 

Total remuneration for the role is in the range of $3,436.24 to $3,908.63 gross per fortnight comprising:

  • $3,043.99 to $3,467.66 base salary
  • $37.84 Adverse Working Conditions allowance
  • $354.41 to $403.13 superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)

A fully maintained Council vehicle for to/from home use is also available with this position!

About you

You enjoy outdoor activities and thrive in a team environment, bringing experience in writing reports related to tree management. As an excellent communicator, you can easily work with a range of people at Council and in the community. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in tree management who appreciates the value of environmental improvement and safe practices. A Certificate IV in Horticulture (Arboriculture modules) is required to help Council meet those standards. To be successful, your application should further show:

  • Minimum Cert IV in Horticulture with essential Arboriculture units.
  • Experience in undertaking visual tree assessments and well-developed tree management report writing skills.
  • High level computer literacy particularly in email, databases and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and provide accurate timely advice.

A Diploma in Arboriculture and other relevant horticulture/natural resource studies will be a bonus!
