THE POSITION:
The Visitor Information Officer will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Albury Visitor Information Centre and deliver effective customer service, enhancing the visitor experience through the sharing of accurate, inspiring and personalised information and advice. The position will assist in the management of the Visit Albury Wodonga website and social media accounts. Including creating and implementing digital marketing content. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Visitor Services Coordinator in the efficient day-to-day operation of the Albury Visitor Information Centre (VIC).
  • Deliver comprehensive visitor information services (via phone, in person, email and messenger) in an educated, enticing, accurate and non-prejudiced manner
  • Assist in the management of the Visit Albury Wodonga social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), website and all websites that feature Albury Wodonga.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Visit Albury Wodonga’s digital content strategy, ensuring continual engagement and activity
  • Create relevant content for the Visit Albury Wodonga website and social media profiles
  • Participate in product familiarisation and maintain a high level of awareness of local, regional and state products
  • Collect and collate relevant visitor data and information, including maintaining the tourism industry database
  • Support supervision of casual VIC staff providing clear direction and guidance, as well as promoting a team environment
  • Ensure the visual amenity and presentation of the VIC Pod remains of a high standard at all times
  • Operate Point of Sale (POS) including cash register, EFTPOS facilities and credit card payments
  • Assist in the promotion and delivery of the Tourism Partner Program, ensuring strong relationships with participants and promotion of the VIC’s resources
  • Assist in the development, distribution and stock control of the Visit Albury Wodonga’s marketing collateral and souvenirs
  • Support the Tourism Team Leader and Visitor Services Coordinator by undertaking and managing projects/activities identified
  • Participate on behalf of the AlburyCity VIC, at relevant industry conferences, travel shows and industry meetings
  • Undertake and manage projects/activities identified by the VIC Coordinator
  • Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
  • Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.
  • Observe appropriate AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding day to day operations including Equal Employment Opportunity policies, AlburyCity's Dress Code and Standards Policy and AlburyCity's Code of Conduct.
