The Opportunity
Are you ready to take the lead in a role that truly makes a difference? We’re seeking a passionate Works Supervisor - Unsealed to oversee and enhance our unsealed road maintenance and construction programs. This is a fantastic chance for an experienced professional to drive excellence in road maintenance while contributing to the growth and upkeep of our local infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Plan, implement, monitor, and review unsealed road maintenance programs. Assist with delivering related capital works and maintenance projects.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support maintenance teams and contractors, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Strategic Input: Contribute to strategic planning, budget consolidation, and council plans.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all works meet relevant standards, including the Council's Road Management Plan.
- Cost Management: Prepare cost estimates, monitor budgets, and report on financial status.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments, develop Safe Operating Procedures, and ensure adherence to OH&S requirements.
- Administrative Duties: Manage time sheets, purchase orders, and invoices, in line with Council policies.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Relevant trade qualification or substantial industry experience.
- Expertise in unsealed road maintenance works and project management.
- Proficiency with road maintenance plant and machinery.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in budget reporting and administrative duties.
- Competency in interpreting construction plans and using survey instruments.
- Valid driver’s license for a manual vehicle.
