DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

To be an active and positive member of Councils Executive Management Team. The Executive Team is required to provide leadership and management to the Bulloo Shire Council, whilst implementing effective strategies in delivering Councils Corporate and Operational plans.

The Executive Team is required to provide assistance to Councils skilled and valued workforce that is motivated to consistently deliver high levels of service in a safe and efficient manner. OBJECTIVES

The Administration & Financial Services Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of Admin & Financial Services which align with Councils vision & Objectives. To facilitate the administrative and financial functions of the Council in accordance with the Local Government Act 2009, Local Government Regulation 2012, AASB and other relevant legislation.

Acting as a reference point for staff in regard to aspects of financial functions of the Council.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Please answer the following questions:

  1. Highly developed people management, leadership and teamwork skills, with demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams.
  2. Possess relevant bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or relevant equivalent field.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks, with experience in managing external audits and responding to all Government and statutory financial reporting requirements.
  4. Experience in preparation of budget and cashflow statements and other financial reporting documents.
  5. Capacity for strategic thinking and the ability to take initiative and prioritise competing responsibilities and timeframes.
  6. Effective communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  7. Experience in Practical+ is advantageous though not essential.

REMUNERATION

The Employee will receive the remuneration package including

  • Base Salary from $130,000 (based on qualifications & experience)
  • 5 weeks annual leave
