About the Program
Aligned with the Shire's Youth Strategy, the GAP-year program is an opportunity for local candidates who are unsure of their career path to have the opportunity for entry into the workplace to gain valuable skills, while being supported and set up for future workplace success without having to commit to a long-term position.
You will receive on the job and other professional development opportunities, career guidance and gain exposure to different work areas, by working on a rotation roster, while being supported by an allocated workplace buddy.
