An exciting opportunity exists to join Team Somerset in the newly created position of Communications Officer. As Communications Officer you will assist in the development and delivery of corporate media, communication, marketing activations and campaigns to enhance Council’s image and public profile while increasing engagement with the community. The role will also be responsible for managing media enquiries and Council’s corporate social media content.

To be successful in the role, you will require:

Relevant qualifications in communications, public relations or journalism or related discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Knowledge of the media industry.

High level research and writing skills.

Comprehensive knowledge of social media and other digital communication channels.

Well-developed time management, organisational and prioritising skills.
