ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Data and Information Coordinator plays a crucial role in our organization by managing and maintaining data and information resources to support informed decision-making, strategic planning, and operational efficiency.

This role involves collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating data, as well as ensuring data quality and security. You will collaborate with various departments to meet their data needs and contribute to the organization's overall success. They are also responsible for the planning, coordination and management of the Council Geographic Information System (GIS), geo-spatial data repositories and cartographic production.

In this role, you will manage 7 direct reports - staff performance and provide mentoring while encouraging staff to work in a collaborative, learning environment that promotes communication, transfer of knowledge and learning.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will have:

·        Tertiary qualifications in data management, information systems or a related business field and/or equivalent demonstrable experience

·        Proven experience in data management, analysis or a related role

·        Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and familiarity with data visualisation techniques

·        Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations

·        Experience in managing data collection, translation, integration, maintenance and map production

·        Experience in managing contracts and contractors

·        Extensive knowledge of database systems including Microsoft SQL and data warehousing

·        Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as data modelling, data mining and statistical analysis
