What you'll be doing

Servicing, repairing, and maintaining Council’s fleet, heavy plant and fixed plant
Attending breakdowns and performing on-the-spot fixes where needed
Conducting inspections, diagnosing faults and keeping detailed service records
Training apprentices and sharing your expertise
Minor welding, oxy cutting, and assisting with new equipment installations

What we're looking for

Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter/Mechanic with experience in light and heavy machinery
Valid C-Class Driver’s Licence (HR Licence desirable)
Construction White Card & Forklift Licence
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel and camp in remote locations when needed
Physically fit and ready for hands-on work

Location:	Council's Depot Workshop - 31 Charlotte Street, Cooktown
Tenure:	Full time 76 hours per fortnight 9-day fortnight (every 2nd Friday off)
Remuneration:	Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C: Division 2, Section 2) Award – State 2017 – Level C10 to C5, dependent on qualifications and experience Between $67,940 and $80,177 per annum + Over Award Payment
Leave Entitlements	5 weeks annual leave 15 days personal leave
Superannuation	11.5% Superannuation contributions
