About the role

This position is a full time role in the Water and Sewer team based at the Moruya Administration Office. This position will assist with the development of water supply and sewerage strategic planning documents and also monitor and report environmental compliance.

Your main duties will include:

  • Contributing to the development of water and sewer infrastructure strategies.
  • Monitoring and reporting on Water Quality compliance under the Public Health Act.
  • Collect, collate and analyse data for measuring levels of services, investigations, performance, reports and benchmarking.
  • Assisting in the development of Dams Safety reports in compliance with Dams Safety Legislation.
  • Monitoring and reporting on Environment Protection Licence compliance under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act.
  • Monitoring and documenting biosolids quality to determine suitability for beneficial reuse.
  • Managing the investigation, design and delivery of water and energy efficiency programs and environmental projects.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $105,190.52 to $130,679.83 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $91,151.00 to $113,238.31 base salary
  • $3,190.28 to $3,963.34 Civil Liability Allowance
  • $10,849.25 to $13,478.19 superannuation (at 11.5%)

A fully maintained Council leaseback vehicle (including full private usage) is available with this position.

About you

You are an experienced Engineer and ideally have a background in water and sewer. You are focused, thorough and well organised in your approach to project work. Problem solving comes naturally to you and you have proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Your application will demonstrate the following:

  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent (AQF Level 8).
  • Understanding of asset management principles.
  • Proven word processing, spreadsheet and database skills.
  • Knowledge of budgetary and financial preparation, monitoring and control.
