The Role:

The position plays a key role in the operational delivery of major events within the City of Ballarat Events portfolio.

About You:

An opportunity exists for confident and engaging Events Support Officers to join the Casual Events Pool for the Events Unit.

The City of Ballarat delivers 14 major events per year and is looking for casual events staff to support the City of Ballarat Events Officers to deliver these major events.

The Events Support Staff Member will be a key member of the events unit taking direction from the Event Officers to ensure the event is delivered safely.

Reporting to the Events Manager applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of;

  • Operational logistics of event bump in & out
  • Assist events lead in operational delivery
  • Complete tasks as required and as delegated by Events Officer
  • Respond to attendee enquiries
  • Contractor management
  • Bump in and bump out facilitation
  • Following event policies and procedures
  • Ensuring contractors comply with workplace health and safety systems and practices

Experience in major event management will be expected.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work flexible hours including after hours and on weekends and undertake some physical work (e.g. setting up equipment required at events).
