- Band 6 Salary from $88,829 to $98,566 per annum, plus superannuation – Monthly RDO.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate a strong technical approach to utilising ITIL methodology to consolidate, optimise and enhance the line of business systems. You will have strong skills in communication, lateral thinking, and configuring platforms such as SharePoint, the Power Platform, and on-premises apps.
The role
Position Objectives
The ICT Business Systems Specialist is responsible for a number of outcomes:
- To assist in the development, delivery and utilisation of Council’s Business Systems, enhancing and leveraging the investment in the Council’s Line of Business Systems.
- Ensure delivery of work is in-line with the council’s ICT strategy – and that projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- Contribute to a professional culture within the team, where individuals take ownership and are fastidious and proud of delivering excellence and quality.
- Completion of other tasks, such as report writing, tender preparation and general project assistance as required
- Support developing a Business Systems strategy, roadmap and aligning with the overall ICT Strategy.
- Being the escalation point and providing expert technical guidance related to council’s Line of Business Systems – both to the team and council stakeholders.
- To provide specialist advice and assistance across the organisation in the appropriate use and application of Council’s Line of Business Systems to meet business needs, including the identification, design, planning and implementation of appropriate solutions.
- The role is required to bring and maintain Power Platform, SharePoint, Website Management, Application Support expertise, including up to date and relevant knowledge and understanding of application support, low-code / no-code solutions, robotic process automation (RPA) and workflow tools, systems, processes, and industry standards.
- Any other duties within ICT as directed by the Executive Manager ICT, ICT Coordinator Technology Platforms, ICT Senior Business Systems Specialist.
Qualifications and Experience
- Understanding and Experience with the ITIL methodology
- Demonstrated specialist/technical experience in an business systems domain.
- Demonstrated experience in producing quality reports and operational documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to effectively manage multiple projects and actions concurrently.
- Ability to liaise with counterparts in other organisations to analyse and creatively resolve specialist issues.
- Some experience of strategy/policy development and implementation.
- Experience with local government is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable experience with hardware and software troubleshooting functions, including familiarity with using set procedures and policies to guide decision making

- Strong troubleshooting skills, with an ability to learn.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including a proven ability to communicate effectively with those of varying technical understanding.
