About the Opportunity

Council is seeking Network Operators to join their Utilities team to undertake construction and maintenance activities on Councils water and sewer infrastructure through the skilled operation of trucks and machinery, along with general labouring duties as required.

These positions can be based at either Chinchilla, Miles or Wandoan.

Reporting to the Utilities Network Supervisor West, you will be:

• Operating various types of trucks, plant and machinery, primarily Medium Rigid trucks;
• Operating various types of mechanical or electrical hand tools and equipment in construction and maintenance works;
• Participating in standby roster for afterhours work; and
• Undertaking routine maintenance of assigned equipment.

About yourself

The successful applicant will have:

• knowledge and experience in various aspects of Civil Construction and maintenance works OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience;
• Current MR Class or higher Licence;
• WHS Construction White Card; and
• Ability and willingness to obtain other competencies as required relevant to the position eg: Confined space entry, MUTCD level 2, Working at heights, Trench shoring.

Relocation assistance of up to $5,000 will be provided to the preferred candidate if relocating to the Western Downs Region.

Additional Allowances

This position will also receive additional allowances including:

• On Call Allowance - applicable on call allowances as per Award
• Locality Allowance - Dependent on location and dependants
• Tool Allowance - $32.63 per week
• Utilities Operations Retention Payment - $1,500.00 (conditions apply)

In addition to your annual salary, Council will contribute twelve (12) per cent, including the superannuation guarantee contribution.

Salary Packaging Available

Leave Loading

You will receive 17.5% leave loading on top of your base rate of pay, while you are on Annual Leave.
