About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced plumber to join our Building Construction and Maintenance team on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 5 years. You will be a part of a team with over 200 qualified tradespeople across multiple disciplines in Council who work towards delivering projects and maintaining our assets.

You will be responsible for plumbing and drainage maintenance of approximately 500 buildings owned by us which includes commercial, industrial and domestic infrastructure. An ideal candidate will provide advice, instructions and supervise the training of apprentice plumbers. TMV accreditation and experience in black flow and roof plumbing would be highly regarded.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Minimum qualification for this position is a trade certificate
  • Completion of a 4-year plumbing apprenticeship
  • Current class C driver's licence.

Desirable:

  • Post Trade or Advanced Certificate in a related area
  • Plumbers Licence
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,316.09 per week
  • 38-hour working week
  • Rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
