Utilise technical knowledge and experience for effective maintenance, construction and repair of water and sewer infrastructure in accordance with Council’s delivery and operational plans.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Utilise best practice plumbing processes in the service, maintenance and repair of Council’s water and sewer infrastructure and assets. Delivering efficient, effective, and quality work outputs in a timely manner. Appling sound judgement and technical skills with an innovative approach towards problem solving.
  • Inspect and report on Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV) and Backflow prevention devices (BFP), developing maintenance and replacement programs that ensure ongoing operation.
  • Complete required documentation for all works, ensuring compliance with internal Council requirements, legislation and obligations.
  • Provide technical advice, assistance, recommendations or comment regarding suitability of designs, proposed upgrades, or other proposed plumbing works.
  • Champion a positive safety culture within the team to ensure a safe workplace for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects, plans and any other safety or regulatory documentation.
  • Coach, mentor and pass on technical knowledge to apprentices.

About You

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

  • Trade Certificate as a Plumber (Certificate III in Plumbing) or equivalent AND 5 years experience in a related environment
  • Tradesperson Licence – Plumber
  • Backflow Prevention Device accreditation – commissioning, maintaining and testing
  • Statement of Attainment in Thermostatic Mixing Valves – installation, testing
  • Statement of Attainment in Confined Space Entry
  • Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
  • Class MR Driver Licence

Full time: 76-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $65,832 to $75,706 pa + 11% super
