We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join our team and provide administrative support and assistance to the Procurement & Payables Branch.  

What You Will Do:
As a Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in the delivery of best practice procurement in relation to the whole procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to payment. You will oversee and support procurement activities across Council, ensuring that processes align with policies and our core aims of:

  • Value for money
  • Open and effective competition
  • Development of competitive local business and industry
  • Environmental protection and ethical behaviour and fair dealing

You will be instrumental in supporting Council’s purchasing needs while building strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers to maintain service continuity and improve procurement outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a Purchasing Officer role or other administrative type position.
  • Experience in computer-based systems particularly in relation to purchasing functions.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 and associated suite of programs with a strong focus on Excel and Word.
  • Experience in data entry with a strong focus on speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and to utilise initiative in problem solving, planning and organisational skills.
