THE POSITION:

The position of Rates Officer is responsible for performing numerous administrative and operational functions to assist in the management of Council’s rates revenue collection. The position requires regular interactions external stakeholders and is responsible for providing high quality customer service.

ABOUT YOU: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to collect and analyse data and information
  • Interpersonal and relationship building skills and experience to facilitate interactions with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Organisation, project and time management skills combined with the ability to work unsupervised, handling competing priorities to adapt to fluctuating workloads and changing priorities
  • Ability to apply initiative and problem solve on issues encountered in day-to-day activities and in the co-ordination of service delivery
  • Skills and experience in administration with the ability to provide operational and project support
  • Strong oral, written and verbal communication skills
  • Skills and experience working within a customer service environment with the ability to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction


SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 70 hours per fortnight
  • This position is a Grade 3, salary range is $66,443 p.a. with progression to $73,338 p.a. on demonstrated competencies. Performance progression will be up to $77,831 p.a. plus superannuation.
