Salary range: $95,251 to $100,589 per annum + 13% superannuation.

About the role

This role aims to foster connections and strengthen Hobart’s business community through the coordination of business support, including the development and promotion of localised marketing campaigns and funding opportunities.

Through stakeholder engagement, networking, marketing, event delivery and analysis, this role will build capability, productivity and value-add to existing and emerging businesses within the Hobart Local Government Area (LGA).

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to organisational teamwork.
  • Deliver projects with precision, balancing timelines and budget.
  • Develop marketing and promotional strategies that showcase our thriving business community. 
  • Ensure the unit remains engaged, attentive, and adaptable to the needs, challenges, and ambitions of businesses and the wider community.

Your role will be crucial in addressing some of the following:

  • Write clear, engaging and original copy for various marketing materials including website, blog posts, email campaigns and advertisements.
  • Monitor "Hello Hobart" social media channels and respond to feedback, questions, and comments.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Project Manager, Smart Economy on the development and implementation of a marketing and brand strategy for Hello Hobart.
  • Develop sound awareness of the issues and challenges facing the business community, on both local and a national level.
  • Deliver initiatives that expand or enhance our night-time economy programs in the City.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field and/or experience in stakeholder management.  This position is well-suited for individuals with exceptional attention to detail who excel in a bustling work setting.
