Your Contribution

Building a Better Buloke: As the Senior Engineer Buildings and Open Spaces, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for Buloke's residents through the effective planning and management of open spaces, building, and waste infrastructure. Your work will support the Council's long-term financial sustainability and strategic goals, making a tangible difference in the lives of residents and fostering a vibrant, thriving community.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

- Lead and support the Open Spaces Assets Team
- Develop, implement and review Council’s Open Space Asset Management Plan and Building Asset Management Plan
- Inform the planning and delivery of the open spaces and building capital works program including funding applications
- Maintain preventative maintenance programs for infrastructure assets
- Establish and maintain design standards for open spaces and buildings
- Ensure infrastructure asset valuations are completed on time
- Manage and report on the engineering budget
- Address and resolve infrastructure-related concerns

Qualifications and Experience:

- Relevant qualifications in engineering and extensive experience in engineering, project management or asset management
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders in support of Council’s strategic direction
- Ability to develop, analyse, and interpret asset management strategies and policies
- Financial management skills for managing budgets and contributing to long-term financial planning and forecasting
- Effective contract management skills, including the ability to develop specifications, prepare tender documents, contracts and ensure proactive contractor management.
