Temporary Waste Facility Operator

(13 August 2024 – 1 January 2025)

Kyogle Council is seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious person to join our Waste Facility operations team on a short-term contract. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that Council’s waste management facilities are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times and ensuring a great customer experience for visitors to our facilities.

Key duties include:

• Operating a weighbridge and associated computer software
• Maintaining facility grounds (i.e. mowing, brush-cutting, gardening, picking up litter, cleaning and tidying drop-off areas)
• Operating heavy plant equipment including a loader, compactor, hook/life truck and forklift
• Sorting recyclable materials
• Working at the Kyogle Reuse Shed.

Must have Class C and Class HR vehicle licences. Demonstrated competency in operating a hook/lift truck, loader, compactor, ride-on mower, brush-cutter and weighbridge would be an advantage.
