About The Role:

Working as part of a team, our arborists undertake general tree maintenance across our Council area performing reactive works coupled with a balance of block tree pruning to our streetscapes, reserves, and other green areas. Based on experience, our team members will work at heights and as ground crew operating chainsaws, chipper machines and other arboriculture equipment to ensure maintenance standards of Council trees.

Our equipment: We provide state of the art equipment and PPE including Protos Arborist safety helmets with bluetooth ear muffs, Altec 10m and 13m Versalift elevated work platforms, and battery and petrol Stihl and Husqvarna chainsaws and power pruners.

Training: We are committed to the professional development of our employees and ensure our people have the appropriate training and are given opportunities to develop their skills.

About You:

Applications are welcome from those with a:

  • Certificate 3 in Arboriculture or Horticulture, or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • MR truck licence and white card accredited
  • Desirable: High Risk Work Licence - Elevated Work Platform (11 metres) and experience of working safely at heights

About Our Team:

The Trees and Irrigation team is responsible for the development, enhancement and maintenance of trees and streetscapes, recreational reserves and sporting grounds. The team manage programmed and reactive work that involves detailed street tree pruning and care, and quality irrigation systems for attractive landscapes. 

The Detail:

We have two full-time, permanent vacancies classified at ME6, with a starting salary of $74,721 per annum + super. The benefits of joining the City of Charles Sturt also include:
