The role
CBCity has an exciting new opportunity to join our Planning Department as a Building Compliance Officer. You will respond to complaints relating to unauthorised building work, non-compliant building work and dilapidated buildings work. You will complete investigations and undertake enforcement actions as an investigations officer as defined under the Environmental Planning and Assessment (EP&A) Act 1979 in relation to Council's role.
You will educate and direct the community regarding applicable planning and building controls including but not limited to; Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and associated regulations, Canterbury Bankstown Local Environmental Plan 2023, Canterbury Bankstown Development Control Plan 2023, relevant State Environmental Planning Policies and the National Construction Code.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $90,858 (Grade G Step 1) + Vehicle Allowance + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
