Offering a salary up to $122,316.16, per Annum plus 11.5% Superannuation, including Market Allowance plus leaseback vehicle option.

The Opportunity

The Building Surveyor actively undertakes the business functions associated with:

· Certification and inspection of Class 1 and 10 Construction Certificate and Complying Development Certificate applications and Local Approvals pursuant to the Local Government Act.

· Providing efficient and responsive service to the development industry in the inspection of various stages of building construction including but not limited to critical stage inspections.

· Provide advice and guidance to residents, developers and other staff regarding the application of statutory codes and Council policies which regulate development and building, plumbing and drainage processes within the Shire

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying with NSW Fair Trading of ‘Building Surveyor – Restricted (Class 1 and 10 buildings)’ under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 (formerly A3).
  • Experience working in building certification or building surveying in either a Local Government or private practice setting.
  • Proven interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate with influence in order to achieve desired development outcomes. Proven experience in communication to a wide range of audiences and the ability to draft factual technical reports with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of NSW legislation relating to development and building control and the National Construction Code
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a high workload in an efficient and professional manner.
