Cairns Regional Council is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Coordinator Governance.

Primary Objectives:

  • Ensures that appropriate systems of corporate governance are operating effectively within Cairns Regional Council.
  • Provide oversight of the Records Management, Right to Information (RTI) and Information Privacy services within Cairns Regional Council.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a governance and records management environment, ensuring corporate compliance and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting and providing advice on legislation including effective complaints management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft presentations, reports, and other documentation effectively.
  • Collaborative approach to work, providing direction and professional leadership to teams while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Proven experience in liaising with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, handling governance matters with tact and discretion.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to resolve challenges and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects, ensuring deadlines are met to ensure compliance requirements are fulfilled.
