Electrical Site Supervisor

The role & you

Are you an experienced electrician with a passion for electrical design and project management? This is your opportunity to move beyond the tools and take on a supervisory role in the electrical design, installation, testing and commissioning of essential water and sewerage infrastructure systems. You'll be a key player in supporting engineering and project management teams, and you'll help oversee contractors and consultants to ensure the successful delivery of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the completion of electrical designs and contract documentation, ensuring compliance with MidCoast Water Services standards.
• Provide technical support throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases of water and sewerage infrastructure projects.
• Work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure all electrical systems are designed, installed, and tested to meet project requirements.
• Oversee the work of contractors and consultants to ensure they meet the electrical design and installation specifications.
• Design and oversee electrical systems for a variety of applications, including:
  • Motors and mechanical devices
  • Drives (including variable speed drives)
  • Switchboards
  • Instruments and measuring devices
  • Telemetry and wireless communications
  • Network communications cabling and devices
  • Industrial building electrical services (power, lighting, air conditioning, and security systems)

What You Bring:

• Trade qualification as an Electrician (current contractor licence and qualified supervisor certificate) or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in electrical installations, repairs, and troubleshooting.
• Interest in expanding your career into electrical design and project management.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including motors, drives, switchboards, and building electrical services.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical designs and drawings.
• Strong communication and organisational skills to support collaboration with engineers, contractors, and project managers.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $72,000 p.a. - 79,800 p.a. plus superannuation.  

Vehicle: A to and from use vehicle (for work purposes only). 

Tenure: Full Time, Fixed Term (2 years)

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
