The Opportunity  
Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, products and equipment and will be able to work without supervision while demonstrating a high level of honesty and integrity. Previous experience as a cleaner will be highly regarded, and a current 'C' Class driver's licence is essential. To be successful you must be able to undertake the physical aspects of the role and tolerate working outdoors in North Queensland conditions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High attention to detail in order to deliver a clean, hygienic, safe and aesthetic environment for Council employees and members of the public;
  • Understanding of safe chemical handling requirements, with the ability to measure simple mixture quantities for chemical use and comply with manufacturers’ specifications;
  • Friendly and self-motivated team player, with a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal or no direct supervision;
  • Well-developed organisational skills to manage competing priorities, complete set outcomes to meet deadlines, including the the practical planning and coordination of own work schedule; and
  • Current Queensland ‘C’ Class licence or equivalent (essential);

Our Council

General Salary Information:

Level 2 + District + Construction $60,918 per annum plus superannuation. $30.83 per hour.

Pre-employment Screening

Pre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Applicants must be able to safely and competently carry out strenuous labouring and manual handling activities.  The position will require the employee to carry out physical tasks which may include manual handling, repetitive bending, kneeling, twisting and/or squatting, lifting, working in confined spaces, and working at heights.
