Cairns Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and exceptional leader to join our Cairns Infrastructure & Assets Directorate as an Associate Director Service Delivery. About The Role:
- This is a key leadership position within the Cairns Infrastructure & Assets Directorate. The Associate Director will develop and implement goals, services and programs necessary to deliver cost effective and efficient services to the community.
- Ensure the establishment and ongoing operation of effective service teams.
- To ensure continual proactive relationships with stakeholders, the Associate Director will assist the Director Cairns Infrastructure & Assets in liaising with key stakeholders of the Council.
- Assist in liaising with the Mayor and Councillors and the Chairpersons of Committees relevant to the responsibilities of the Department.
- Act as Department spokesperson to address media and community groups in accordance with the Councils media policy.
About You:
- Proven senior leadership experience with a focus on strong relationship management.
- A proven reputation for excellent people management and negotiation skills.
- Appropriate Tertiary qualifications with demonstrated project management experience and understanding of project management methodology.
- Sensitivity awareness to economic and environmental factors within the Cairns community and the ability and judgment to resolve conflicting objectives.
- A proven commitment to the delivery of quality customer service.
- Proven experience in mentoring and coaching employees.
- Ability to provide effective leadership of change.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven ability to communicate with external parties, including media and industry partners.
