About the opportunity

An exceptional opportunity awaits an accomplished professional to take on the permanent, full-time role of Coordinator Fleet Contracts within Blacktown City Council.

This pivotal position offers the chance to oversee and drive the strategic management of fleet-related contracts, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and value-driven outcomes. Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Diploma in Business or a related field
  • Trade qualification, Automotive Technology, Mechanical maintenance, project management or related field or demonstrated experience in a similar role within a complex organisation
  • Solid experience in contract management and an understanding of the issues, principles and practices relating to the management of Fleet Services and assets within the public domain
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in developing positive supplier relationships that drive value for money outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice on tenders and contract management and in the preparation of policies, tenders, contracts, procedures, strategies and reports
  • Demonstrated proficiency in providing technical expertise, coaching and advice to relevant staff to allow them to effectively undertake their responsibilities and duties
  • Demonstrated experience in budget and the procurement of goods and services
  • Well developed organisational, planning, leading and co-ordination skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement work programs including experience in coordinating operational and contractor service delivery
  • Well developed written and verbal communication and problem solving skills, including a proven ability to engage, negotiate and resolve issues
  • Knowledge of CoR legislation and regulations including industry standards, environmental issues and current technology
  • Availability to work flexible working hours
  • Solid working knowledge of computer software applications
  • Transport for NSW Authorised Inspection Station – Heavy Vehicles
  • Current class C driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • First aid certificate
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the local government environment.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $2,092.02 per week
  • 35-hour working week
  • Leaseback vehicle
